The pelican, who nourishes his little ones with his own blood, is a symbol of love, which reaches the point of self-sacrifice with the gift of life.

Jesus is the “good pelican“, who in the Eucharist expresses to us all his love, giving body and blood as nourishment for the salvation of all. For Rosminian it is a sign of full
 consecration to Love, expressed in the relationship of intimate communion with Christ and in generous service to our brothers and sisters.
