“And the shepherds went back glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen.” (Lk 2 20)
My dear Sisters,
During Advent we were invited to “pause in silence to understand a presence …”; and continuing on this journey we reach Christmas 2017, with different and varied experiences, confident that ‘the individual events of the day are hints that God is giving us … glimpses of his love’.
This love is made real in the WORD MADE FLESH, who has come to live among us. “The coming of God to Bethlehem took place in silence. Only the shepherds keeping watch were, for a moment, surrounded by the light-filled radiance of his presence and could listen to something of that new song, born of the wonder and joy of the angels at God’s coming. This silent coming of God’s glory continues throughout the centuries”. (Benedict XVI, 25 Dec, 2008)
We pray that we may come from the stable, radiating the light and joy of the new-born Christ, expressed in the ‘gentleness’ of our presence, each day of our lives.
Happy Christmas and a joyful and blessed journey through 2018!
We ask God’s blessing on Anisia Bernard Ludovick and Rehema Julius Adam (Novices) who will make First Profession in Muheza on 2 January, 2018. On the same day 22 Junior Sisters will renew Vows.
We remember in prayer the suffering people affected by the recent cyclone here in Kerala which killed many fishermen with 100s still missing.
With love, c.m.
