The first nuns to arrive in Tanzania, in Tanga, in 1955 belonged to the English Province.

In 1956 Sr. Laura (the first Italian) and sr. went to Kwediboma instead. M. Francis, of the English Province.

The following year, 1957, Sr. Geltrude Pollastro and Sr. Silvestra went to Kwediboma.
