SUORE DELLA PROVVIDENZA ROSMINIANE
Via Aurelia, 773
ROMA
My dear Sisters,
These past months have shown the fragility of the human situation, giving us an appreciation of what is no longer within our reach or is missing in our lives and what we actually have. The answer will be very different for all of us.
In this great feast of the Eucharist – of thanksgiving – the mystery of faith and of love, let us give thanks for what we have. “O sacred Banquet, wherein Christ is received, the memory of His passion is recalled, the soul is filled with grace, and there is given to us a pledge of future glory.” (St Thomas Aquinas)
Each time we commemorate the Feast of the Body and Blood of the Lord, we celebrate Christ’s gift of the Eucharist, the source and summit of our life together as Church.
Let us join with Bl. Antonio Rosmini:
“Gazing at the wonder and sublimity of this divine sacrifice …
Everything great, holy, comforting, benevolent, mysterious and moving is found here.
There is nothing in the whole of religion more reverent, useful, good, beautiful and rich, that is not already supremely present in the Eucharist, the source of all holiness, grace, love, beauty and dignity…Every day, Mass will appear new to (the Christian) because it will unveil new truths and offer new experiences…”
(Christian Education, 184)
A happy Solemnity of Corpus Christi!
God bless,
With love,
